Alister Pearson




Two new fantastic signed prints arrived in the post yesterday from artist Alister Pearson.
The first, a Black and White print of the eigth Doctor, originally appeared on the cover of a fanzine. It combines a lithographic background Alister found in a library book with his own painting of Paul McGann. The join is seamless. This print is A4.
The second print originally appeared in the booklet for the DVD boxset of the second series of 21st century Doctor Who. The print is significantly different to the published version as the designer opted not to include the supporting cast or TARDIS door in the finished version.

Colin Howard

An A3 print of the first Doctor, William Hartnell. The print has been signed by its artist, Colin Howard.
Colin is a professional artist who has a long-standing connection with Doctor Who. He has been responsible for the covers to countless Doctor Who books, videos and magazines.
All proceeds from this auction are going to fund research done by the transplant team at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The auction


The next "Art for Hearts" auction will be starting on the 4th of July. We'll be auctioning an original commission by artist Pete Wallbank on Ebay.

Pete will create a "Doctor Who" themed piece of artwork to your specification. The accompanying picture is an example of the type of stunning artwork Pete produces.

Alister Pearson's artwork has graced the covers to countless Doctor Who magazines, books and videos. For the last four years he has also provided covers for the annual "Doctor Who storybook".Alister has kindly donated three signed prints of his cover to the 2010 yearbook. Anthony Dry






Artist Anthony dry has provided artwork for Big Finish's original Doctor Who audio plays, for Doctor Who magazine and for the Doctor Who DVD boxsets.
Anthony has kindly donated three signed prints of his fantastic artwork. The first illustrated a feature in Doctor Who magazine on the eigth Doctor audio plays. The other two prints are of illustrations Anthony provided for DVD boxsets.
The prints are A4, are printed on photographic paper and are signed.

Andy Walker

Artist Andy Walker has provided illustrations for "DWB" and "Dreamwatch" magazine in the '80s and '90s. More recently he has illustrated stories for the 2006 Dr. Who annual and the four storybooks that followed.
Andy has kindly donated this great signed print of the eleventh Doctor in action. The art was a strip sample sent into "Doctor Who magazine" and this led to Andy illustrating some articles.
Andy says of this picture, "Interestingly I chose to feature the Silurians long before there were any whisperings on the internet about their return in the current series (Although these are the Pertwee ones of course).

Pete Wallbank


Artist Pete Wallbank has been in contact. Pete has been responsible for a number of Doctor Who video, book, magazine covers and calendars.

Rather than donate a piece of artwork for the auction Pete has very kindly offered to create a commissioned piece of artwork for the highest bidder. For this original piece the winner gets to choose what they would like.
As part of the package they would receive all of the original preliminary work as well - it could end up as several original works for the price of one!

Mike Tucker



Visual Effects Designer Mike Tucker is head of The Model Unit. The Model Unit has been responsible for a lot of the special effects in Doctor Who including the destruction of Big Ben in 2005 and the rebuilt Daleks.

Mike has donated a signed print of a sketch he created for a new TARDIS console back in 1997. It was used as a miniature background for "Doctor Who night". The print is A4 and on photographic paper.It's a great drawing.

Adrian Salmon

This year we'll be running an auction of artwork relating to the world of Doctor Who.







This morning the very first pieces of artwork arrived from the very talented Adrian Salmon. Adrian has kindly donated three fantastic pen and ink drawings.


The first depicts the fourth Doctor, Tom Baker. It measures 28cm x 19cm. It is ink on bristol board.


















The second piece of art originally appeared in Doctor Who magazine to illustrate a "Time Team" article on the story "Destiny of the Daleks". it measures 30.5 cm x 23 cm.













The third piece of artwork also accompanied a "Time team" article in doctor who magazine. this one illustrates episodes 9 - 12 of the story, "The Trial of a Time-Lord". The art is drawn in ink on watercolour paper and measures 35 x 25.5 cm.
